Angelica supports young people from toddlerhood through young adulthood, with a special focus on children and teens. She helps children and their families navigate ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, emotional regulation, identity development, school stress, friendship challenges, family conflict, and major life transitions. She understands that children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling, and that their needs may show up through behavior, play, relationships, or changes at home and school. With younger children, Angelica uses play, creativity, and connection to help them communicate and make sense of their experiences. With preteens and teens, she creates space for honest conversations about emotions, identity, relationships, belonging, and the pressures they face. Her goal is to understand each client’s world, help them feel genuinely seen, and explore the experiences and environmental factors shaping their story. Growing up with parents who served in the military, Angelica moved frequently and experienced many different communities and cultures. These experiences introduced her to both the adversity and remarkable strength of young people from diverse backgrounds. In communities where mental health services were not always available or openly embraced, she learned the importance of connection, relationships, and community support. These formative experiences inspired her desire to make compassionate mental health care more accessible to children and families. Angelica earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of Washington. She later received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Washington University. As a BIPOC woman, Angelica is especially passionate about supporting marginalized and underserved communities. She is committed to creating an affirming, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can safely explore all parts of themselves. Her approach is personalized, experiential, and strengths based. She draws from Child-Centered Play Therapy, Relational Cultural Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. She also enjoys incorporating expressive arts, creativity, humor, and play into the therapeutic process. Rather than viewing therapy as a way to fix a child, Angelica helps young people discover their strengths, understand their emotions, build confidence, and develop healthier ways of connecting with themselves and others. Angelica believes that a strong therapeutic relationship can provide a secure and grounding foundation throughout life’s journey. Her style is warm, empathetic, curious, and collaborative. Whether a young person feels like they are hiking up a steep mountain or peacefully floating down a calm river, Angelica walks alongside them. She helps clients and families face challenges, build meaningful connections, and move forward with greater clarity, courage, and hope.
